How can the five senses be incorporated into everyday learning environments?

Q&A need it tonight or tomorrow morning

  • Choose four of the criteria for developing concept explorations. Explain why these are important.

  • Discuss how you can create an environment for young children that promotes using the five senses.

  • How can the five senses be incorporated into everyday learning environments?

  • Using a website of your choice, search for a picture book that is developmentally appropriate. Once you find an appropriate book, create three science centers, and be prepared to share the centers during Seminar.

Select a valuable science learning station similar to the ones in your text that you can implement in your classroom and include a description of the station.

    Your description should:

    • include the age group the activity is geared to: 0–4months, 5–12 months, 2–4 years old, or 5–8 years old

    • share what the students will do at the station and what you expect them to learn

    • discuss how to create environments that capture the curiosity and interest of young children and how to incorporate the five senses

    • Share how you would prepare engaging explorations that focus on different science topics. What are some ways to find out the children’s interests?

An important step in preparing our classrooms and curriculum is getting to know our students as individuals and building a relationship that is reciprocal and characterized by trust. Jaruszewicz (2013) discusses the importance of building individual connections, stating that

Building trust requires connecting with each child on a personal level, so that they know you care about them and what happens to them, are curious about what they think, and firm with them when they need guidance. These things give children the emotional security they need to share with you their impressions, confidences, questions, and fears—information you can use to develop, adapt, and personalize whatever curriculum you use to best represent what your children know and do. (Jaruszewicz, 2013, section 3.3, para. 32)

Notice how Jaruszewicz emphasizes that knowing the students as individuals allows for designing individualized curriculum which is more aligned with their needs. In this discussion, we explore the importance of building trust with students to gain insights into how to best meet their needs in an education environment.

Initial Post: After reading Chapter 3 of your text, the Tips for Developing Positive Teacher Student Relationships article, and the Reciprocal Relationships article

  • Reflect on the reading, “Tips for Developing Positive Teacher Student Relationships.” Discuss two approaches you will use to build trust with each of your students and why you believe these approaches will be effective.
  • Reflect on the reading, “Reciprocal Relationships.” Discuss two approaches you will use to build trust with families and why you believe these approaches will be effective.
  • Discuss one or more strategies you can use to prepare your classroom to represent the students, such as through a family bulletin board or a community college. Support your strategies with the text and at least one scholarly resource.

What functions does the HRIS offer and how will it save Fellows time and money?

HRIS

Consider the following Case Study:

You are a HR Consultant who has been contracted by the Fellows Company.

The Fellows Company would like to implement a HRIS. The company has 200 employees and plans on growing 100% over the next 3 years. Currently, Fellows utilizes Excel and Word for keeping track of employee files. Annually, the company spends $50,000 for the HR Department for the salaries of one HR employee who maintains the employee records. There is an accounts payable clerk who makes $45,000 a year and works on Payroll 2 days per week.

Your project is to help the Fellows Company determine the cost-savings and ROI for a new HRIS. Based on research and the Module Readings, determine the ROI of implementing a HRIS. Estimate the initial cost of implementation of an Employee Records/Payroll HRIS for the Fellows Company. You may make assumptions for costs, if you are unable to discover actual costs of HRIS systems.

Create a 3-4-page proposal that summarizes the benefits and the ROI of a new HRIS. Consider the following in your proposal:

  1. What functions does the HRIS offer and how will it save Fellows time and money?
  2. What will be the ROI for the investment? (Consider the initial investment as well as the cost per month/per employee)
  3. What reassurances can you offer the company to help them feel confident in your recommendation?
  4. Original work, APA Format, In-text citation

Write an outline for your Final Paper. You must use the  Outline Template as the basis of your outline.

The outline must contain:

  • An introduction with thesis statement.
  • All learning objectives, with details about how you plan to address each. Please be sure to explain how you plan to support all of your key claims with evidence. Here, you don not have to write full body paragraphs, but you must give your instructor a sense of how you plan to cover each objective with course materials, independent academic research, and personal experiences that correlate with those key points.
  • A conclusion. The conclusion should restate the overall perspective offered in the paper, with a restatement of the thesis and the central points outlined in the paper.
  • A reference page containing at least three academic resources. You should find at least two of these resources independently in the Ashford University Library.

What were three main ideas that you learned from the article regarding RTI?

Ashford University ECE 430 Week 4 Journal

Ashford 5: – Week 4 – Journal

Reflective Journal: Assessment and Planning for Instruction

An important part of being an educator is reflection. Reflection is a learning process through which you use your experiences and knowledge to guide you in the future. Each week you will have the opportunity to use your journal to reflect on the content you have learned in this course and throughout your degree program. Specifically, you will reflect on the connections you see between each case study and two to three topics from the Program Comprehensive Exam. This week we will be focusing on assessment and planning for instruction.  Take a few minutes to think about how the case study addresses these topics.  Additionally, read the article Frameworks for response to intervention in early childhood: Description and implications.

In this week’s readings, we looked at the relationship between assessment and instruction and how the combination of these two support children’s learning and development. A common trend in education that supports the relationship of assessment and instruction is Response to Intervention (RtI). By providing specific, targeted interventions for children, we are able to support their areas of strength and opportunity.

The questions below may spark some ideas regarding assessment and planning for instruction. You do not need to address all the questions; instead, write down your thoughts as they unfold. Reflect on the following in your journal:

    • What were three main ideas that you learned from the article regarding RTI?

    • Based on the case study, what elements of RTI do you think Mrs. Ashland is using with her students? Explain your thinking using justification, supporting details and critical thinking.

    • What experience do you have using RTI with children? Explain how you use RTI.  If you do not have any experience with RTI, what are your thoughts on using RTI with assessment and instruction

  • What role do you see RTI playing in your future work with children?

  • Does the customer have the right to expect the contractor to perform risk analysis and develop a risk management plan if it is not called out as part of the contractual statement of work?
  • Would Altex have been more interested in developing a risk management plan if the project were funded entirely from within?
  • How might the Army have responded if they were presented with a risk management plan early during the R&D activities?
  • Can risk management planning be justified on almost all programs and projects?

Unit II

You are the Total Rewards Director for your organization. Over the past few years employees have been leaving to work for competitors. The CEO has expressed that she wants to conduct an organization wide review of the company’s current compensation strategy. The company now uses a seniority pay rewards system. The CEO wants to know if they should change to a merit pay strategy in order to make the company more competitive.

Prepare a memo to the CEO outlining your recommendation as to whether or not the company should continue to use the seniority pay system or change to a merit pay system. Be specific as to what model would be the best option for your company, and why. Include pros and cons of your options and conclude with your recommendation. The company is not unionized and is privately held. You do not have to factor in a collective bargaining agreement.

Your response should be at least 200 words in length

Unit III

Employers can use a variety of individual incentive programs to contribute to their compensation strategy. Which of the four types of individual incentive plans would you prefer? Explain your choice. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the individual incentive programs? Do you prefer an individual incentive program or a group incentive program? Explain your choice.

Unit IV

Create job descriptions and at least three pay level structures for one of the following positions: Warehouse Manager, Call Center Representative, or Director of Operations for a nonprofit organization.

Unit V

You are the compensation manager for a manufacturing company of about 200 employees. You are responsible for the company’s healthcare budget. The company has been spending an increasing amount of money on health insurance every year with no relief in sight. Currently, the company offers one plan, a traditional HMO that employees contribute to every pay day. The CEO wants to know what options are available to decrease the rising costs without sacrificing employee coverage. She does not want to offer less coverage, just pay less for the same thing or better. In a memo to the CEO, briefly summarize some of the options that the company should explore to contain its costs. You will need to clearly explain each option; however, you do not have to provide any calculations as this is just a starting point to examine all potential plans and options to lower and contain costs.

Your response should be at least 200 words in length.

Unit VII

You are the human resources manager for a small technology company. Currently you have 50 regular full-time employees. The CEO wants to add additional staff to complete a project, but is not comfortable with hiring the ten people that are needed for the project all at once as full-time employees. Based upon your knowledge of contingent and alternative work arrangements, what would you suggest to the CEO? Draft a memo to the CEO explaining your recommendations. Make sure you justify your reasons as to why you chose the options you selected. You will need to cover ten full-time positions using contingent workers.

Your response should be at least 200 words in length.

How will you measure reliability, validity, and sensitivity?

see below

Unit VI Mini Project Write a 2-3 page paper discussing the measurement scale for each question in the survey developed in the Unit III assignment. Decide if you will use composite scale score or a summated scale score. Justify your decision. How will you measure reliability, validity, and sensitivity? Explain how you will deal with ethical dilemmas during the research process (confidentiality, anonymity, conflicts of interest, informed consent, debriefing, experiments on human subjects, and so forth). You must use correct APA formatting when writing your paper. All references used, including the textbook, must be cited. NOTE: This assignment is part of the Unit VIII Research Proposal.

What is the purpose of your proposed anti harassment policy?

Module 2 Assignment 2

Assignment 2: Combining Content, Argument, and Structure—The Workshop

The workplace has become increasingly diverse and global. This diversity has dramatically changed the dynamic of the workplace over the last 50 years. Regardless of race, ethnicity, and gender, people want to be treated fairly.

Research workplace harassment using the following resources:

Suppose you work for an organization that currently does not have an antiharassment policy. You are going to develop an antiharassment policy for the organization and persuade the CEO to adopt it. Create a PowerPoint presentation to convince the CEO of the need for such a policy. Use the speaker notes area to write explanations and arguments and to cite sources. Address the following in your presentation:

  1. What is the purpose of your proposed anti harassment policy?
  2. Why would implementing this policy be beneficial for the CEO? What’s in it for him or her?
  3. Why is it important to have such a policy in place? If the basic purpose is to stop harassing behavior, why is that important? Why is harassment detrimental to an organization?
  4. What is your communication plan? How should the CEO present the policy to the staff? What specific communication methods do you recommend, and what will the communication say?

Develop an eight- to ten-slide presentation in PowerPoint format. Apply APA standards where appropriate for references.
