What particular elements of each organization’s culture, processes, and management systems and styles work well to support innovation?

paper on 3 innnovative companies( facebook, google, apple inc)

For this assignment, you will research the innovation architecture of at least three companies that are well-known for successfully supporting a culture of innovation. Write a 1,500-word paper that addresses the following:

  1. What particular elements of each organization’s culture, processes, and management systems and styles work well to support innovation?
  2. Why do you think these organizations have been able to capitalize on innovation and intrapreneurship while others have not?
  3. Based on what you have learned, what processes and systems might actually stifle innovation and intrapreneurship?
  4. Imagine yourself as an innovation architect. What structures or processes would you put in place to foster a culture of innovation within your own organization?

Include in-text citations to at least four reputable secondary sources (such as trade journals, academic journals, and professional or industry websites) in your paper.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

What are the five key assumptions that are necessary for the H-W Theorem to be valid?

biology homework ASAP ( DUE IN 10 HOURS)

Read the Lab 12 procedures and watch the online Hardy-Weinberg video (https://youtu.be/xPkOAnK20kw and posted on BlackBoard), then complete this assignment prior to lab.

  1. The Hardy-Weinberg Theorem states…

  1. What are the five key assumptions that are necessary for the H-W Theorem to be valid?

  1. Write the Hardy-Weinberg equation:

  1. Dominant allele “R” has a frequency (p) of 0.45 in a particular gene pool. Calculate the following showing all your work and using the proper variables for each value (e.g. p, q, p2, q2, 2pg).
  2. The frequency of allele “r” in that same gene pool?

  1. The proportion of the population that has the genotype RR.

  1. The proportion of the population that has the genotype Rr.

  1. The proportion of the population that has the genotype rr.

  1. If 17% of a population displays the recessive trait for Disease B, what are the frequencies of the recessive allele “b” and the dominant allele “B” in the gene pool?

  1. You perform an experiment where you allow a large population of fruit flies to mate randomly. The parental generation had 30% homozygous recessive genotypes. The F1 generation consisted of 100 flies, 40 of which displayed the recessive trait. Calculate the expected values for each phenotype assuming Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, then fill in the table below and use the Chi-Square test instructions document (posted online) to compare your calculated X2 value with the tabulated X2 value for a P-value of 0.05.
  # of dominant phenotype individuals # of recessive phenotype individuals
Observed value (o)
Expected value (e)
Deviation (o – e) = d
d2
d2/e
Calculated Chi-square (X2) = Σd2/e
Degrees of Freedom
Tabulated X2 value at P=0.05

(from X2 instructions document)

  1. According to your analysis above, are the observed proportion of genotypes in the F1 generation the same, or significantly different, than those expected according to the H-W theorem?

  1. If you allowed your F1 generation to mate, what would you expect the frequency of the recessive allele (q) to be in the F2 generation, assuming the H-W theorem applies?

  5. Define the company’s main types of pricing strategies and target market objectives for the new product.
  6. Suggest the key methods that you would use to create unique distribution channels and logistics through the company’s existing global channel intermediaries. Predict the manner in which these distribution channels would create utility for current and potential customers.
  7. Decide whether you would employ a multicounty strategy or a global strategy for the new product. Provide a rationale to support your response.
  8. Use at least five (5) academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

How did you refer to each other? Do you feel like you had equal time to express yourself?

ATETUTOR Communication: Culture and Context

In this assignment, you will consider the effect of culture and context on communication. There are many definitions of culture, but most include a reference to shared patterns of behaviors and interactions, cognitive constructs, and effective understanding that are learned through a process of socialization. These shared patterns identify the members of a cultural group while also distinguishing those of another group. Culture is about symbols and language, and these elements are central to communication. The idea of something being “lost in translation” is readily apparent to most people who have studied another language and translated a passage into their own primary language. The rate of speech and importance of nonverbal aspects of communication are just a few ways culture can impact the message sent. The importance of context always varies by culture—for example, in some cultures, what is said is much more important than how it is said while in other cultures the “how” may carry much greater importance.

Tasks:

Using your textbook, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, complete the following:

  • Analyze a recent conversation you had with a person of a different culture. Or, if you haven’t had this type of conversation recently, find a video clip online that focuses on people from different cultures communicating and analyze the clip.
  • Provide a brief synopsis of the conversation—what was the general content and context?
  • Describe how you greeted this person. Did you greet this person with a kiss, a handshake, or some other cultural mannerism? Was there additional touching or no touching at all?
  • Describe your physical proximity. How far were you standing from each other? What if any body language was evident? Did you maintain eye contact?
  • Describe the physical characteristics that might be evident. What were you wearing? Were you dressed in casuals or in business attire? Describe what the other person was wearing. How might the apparel make a difference in the conversation?
  • Describe the protocol for the conversation. Did you take turns talking, or did you both talk at the same time? How did you refer to each other? Do you feel like you had equal time to express yourself? Why or why not?
  • Did the physical setting impact what was discussed? What did you talk about? How was the conversation brought to a close? What happened at the end?
  • How might your own cultural affiliation have impacted this conversation? Do an analysis using support from scholarly sources.

Submission Details:

What specific anomalies (abnormal or odd data that does not fit the pattern) are you seeing in this data?

Homework help

  1. Identify at least three different “topic areas” or “data sets” of questions asked by the survey or three ways of categorizing the survey by analyzing what questions it asks and what data those questions will elicit. Are these valid questions or data sets?

  1. What specific patterns are you seeing in this data? Provide three examples.

  1. What specific divergences (differences or contradictions to the pattern) are you seeing? Try to provide two examples.

  1. What specific anomalies (abnormal or odd data that does not fit the pattern) are you seeing in this data? Try to provide one example.

  1.  Can you find any Confounding Variables (Risk factors that affect the results of a study)? Try to provide 2 or 3 different examples.

  1.  Are there any false connections between causation (an action or occurrence can cause another such as smoking causes lung cancer) or correlation (such as smoking is correlated with alcoholism)? If one action causes another, then they are most certainly correlated. But just because two things occur together does not mean that one caused the other, even if it seems to make sense.

Discuss why these positions are necessary to the business.

Purpose:

The third assignment, a consultancy report, provides students with the ability to demonstrate that they have mastered the course content and can apply theories, concepts and ideas learned throughout the course to a situation that emulates a real world situation.  Students will read the case study that focuses on the four functions of management:  planning, organizing, leading and controlling (P-O-L-C) and respond to the required elements of the assignment.

Writing reports in business is commonplace so writing a consultancy report provides students the opportunity to demonstrate a skill that employers are looking for from an employee.

Outcome Met by Completing This Assignment:

  •                   integrate management theories and principles into management practices
  •                   employ effective planning processes to develop strategies, goals, and objectives in order to enhance performance and sustainability
  •                   organize human, physical, and financial resources for the effective and efficient attainment of organizational goals
  •                   demonstrate leadership skills by communicating a shared vision, motivating and empowering others, and creating a culture of ethical decision-making and innovation
  •                   develop measures and assess outcomes against plans and standards to improve organizational effectiveness
  •                   identify the essential characteristics of decision making and indicate the range and types of decisions a manager makes

Instructions:

You have been hired as a consultant to help Mike Davis and his family to solve the problems with his business both day-to-day and over the long term (strategically).  You will create a consultancy report that covers the four functions of management.  In creating the consultancy report, you must also demonstrate how the four functions of management are interrelated showing how issues in one function impact other functions.

In speaking with Mike, Ethan and Daisy, you already know the following about the business owners:

  1.      failed to develop or share a mission statement;
  2.      failed to determine the best way to organize resources, including personnel;
  3.      underestimates the importance of recruitment, job design and descriptions, and training;
  4.      assumed that motivation will occur naturally;
  5.      fails to define standards and other measurable outcomes;
  6.      ignored negative information;
  7.      delayed actions to improve organizational outcomes.

Be succinct in your writing but persuasive so that the recommendations will have positive outcomes for the business.

Students are not using buzz-word and are not defining terms using a dictionary.  Students are expected to present the material in a professional manner describing and explaining to the owners.  As a consultant, you should be secure in your presentation to Mike, Ethan and Daisy.  Avoid telling the owners that they should do this or must do that but write in an action-oriented manner.  Students are expected to make connections between the facts of the case study and concepts, theories, and ideas presented in the course material.

Step 1:  Review “How to Analyze a Case Study” under Week 3 Content.

Step 2:  Create a Word or Rich Text Format (RTF) document.  This consultancy plan should be presented in a professional manner using single space, double-spaced between paragraphs.  The final product will be between 6-8 pages in length excluding the title page, diagrams and reference page.

Step 3:  Title page with your name, the course name, the date, and the instructor’s name.

Step 4:  Since students are probably not familiar with writing a consultancy report, the following resources have been provided to assist in writing the report.

  1.      Outline for Consultancy Report

Step 5:  In writing a case study, the writing is in the third person.  What this means is that there are no words such as “I, me, my, we, or us” (first person writing), nor is there use of “you or your” (second person writing).  If uncertain how to write in the third person, view this link:  http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/first-second-and-third-person

Step 6:  In writing this assignment, students are expected to support the reasoning using in-text citations and a reference list.  If any material is used from a source, it must be cited and referenced.  A reference within a reference list cannot exist without an associated in-text citation and vice versa.  View the sample APA paper under Week 1 content.

Step 7:  In writing this assignment, students are expected to paraphrase and not use direct quotes.  Learn to paraphrase by reviewing this link:  https://writing.wisc.edu/Handbook/QPA_paraphrase2.html

Step 8:  In writing this assignment, students may use external resources but the majority of resources will come from the course readings with a wide array of readings used.

Step 9:  Review the grading rubric for the assignment.

Step 10:  Read critically and analyze the case study provided under Week 5 content.   Notate the key points in the case study.

Step 11:  Create an executive summary.   Although a report must be complete when presenting to a client, the expectation is that there is an executive summary so that the client can read quickly the main features of the report.  The executive summary should be written in a way that makes the client want to read more so it must have enough information to see the potential behind the recommendations without having to read the entire report.

So you aren’t sure how to write the executive summary.  Check out this resource to help you write the summary:

How to Write an Executive Summary:  http://articles.bplans.com/writing-an-executive-summary/

Step 12:  Respond to the required elements of the assignment.  Be clear and concise in the writing and make sure the questions are comprehensively answered.

  • In creating the consultancy report, students will first assess the business and identify specific areas of strengths and weaknesses of the business as it relates to the components of the P-O-L-C. In completing this section, do not create a heading for each element of the P-O-L-C but write from the perspective of the consultant discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the business;
  • Select a management model (class hierarchy, democratic hierarchy, collaborative management or collective management) and explain why the selected model is most appropriate for Outdoor Adventure Paintball Park;
  • Develop roles and responsibility of the owners and employees (Be creative in completing this task);  Discuss why these positions are necessary to the business;
  • Discuss communication and the flow of decision making in relation to the management model;
  • Make specific recommendations for improving the management of Outdoor Adventure Paintball Park. Cover all aspects of the P-O-L-C.  This area of the paper specifically addresses the areas of strengths and weaknesses identified above and puts in place a plan for the short and long –term success of the business;
  • Create a balanced scorecard that will help Outdoor Adventure Paintball Park align its business activities to the vision and strategy of the organization, improves communication and monitors performance against goals;
  • Students are expected to show what they have learned in the course by applying theories and concepts. Be sure to support your reasoning.

Step 13:  Using the grading rubric as a comparison, read through the paper to ensure all required elements are presented.

Step 14: Proofread the paper for spelling and grammatical issues, and third person writing.

  • Use the spell and grammar check in Word as a first measure;
  • Have someone who has excellent English skills to proof the paper;
  • Consider submitting the paper to the Effective Writing Center (EWC).  The EWC will provide 4-6 areas that may need improvement.
