  4. Describe at least three (3) key milestones and /or deliverables for your project.
  5. Describe a high-level timeline that includes key tasks and deadlines.
  6. Estimate the project’s overall cost and any key staffing and non-staffing resources needed.
  7. Examine your project’s greatest challenge and provide a recommendation for addressing the challenge in question.
  8. Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
  • Typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

Project Schedule

Due Week 6 and worth 150 points

This assignment consists of two (2) parts: a project schedule, and a written response. You must submit both parts as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the part of the assignment it is written for.

Part A: Project Schedule

(Submit as one [1] Microsoft Project file)

  1. In Assignment 2, you developed a project plan. Now, using the information from your project proposal, create a multi-level work breakdown structure (WBS) and detailed project schedule.

Your project must include the following criteria:

    • The project must consist of at least twenty-five (25) tasks.
    • Each task must contain a start date, a finish date, and have main staffing and non-staffing resources assigned.
    • Assume that your work activities are completed during normal weekdays (no weekend work) under normal conditions (8 hours per day).
    • In terms of holidays, you can assume no work will be done the following days: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Good Monday, Friday before Memorial Day, Memorial Day, the business day before Independence Day, Independence Day, the Friday before Labor Day, Labor Day, the day before Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving), the business day before Christmas, Christmas Day, the business day after Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

Part B: Written Response

(Submit as a Microsoft Word file)

Write a one to two (1-2) page response in which you:

  1. Analyze your project in terms of project completion, critical path, and slack / float. Specifically, be sure to answer the following:
    • When will the project be completed?
    • What is the critical path for the project?
    • How much slack / float is in your project? What activities have the greatest slack / float?
  2. Summarize the recommendations or improvements you would make to your project schedule. Specifically, be sure to answer the following:
    • Identify the top three (3) activities that you believe could impact the project completion date.
    • What additional activities would you add to this project to make it more complete, from a project management viewpoint?

A discussion of how nature and nurture influence self-attribution and thereby affect cognitive development.

Self Attribution and Cognitive Dissonance

Please, present in APA style and in-text-citation.

Write a paper of 1,000-1,250 words that describes the connection between self-attribution and cognitive dissonance. Include the following in your paper:

  1. A summary of the research regarding the theoretical and empirical approaches to understanding the mental processes of self-attribution and cognitive dissonance. (Benchmarks C 3.2: Analyze theoretical and empirical approaches to understanding mental processes.)
  2. A discussion of how nature and nurture influence self-attribution and thereby affect cognitive development. (Benchmarks C 3.1: Critically analyze the influence of nature and nurture on cognitive development.)
  3. A discussion of why individuals are motivated to resolve cognitive dissonance and how this is related to self-attribution.

Explain how the attentional blink relates to attention. Analyze how the variation in time influences the probability of seeing the second target letter.

module 2 cognitive psych

There are many stimuli in your environment of which you are not aware. You use attention to filter out unimportant stimuli and focus on relevant stimuli. However, there are circumstances under which you cannot perceive stimuli, regardless of how hard you “pay attention.” One situation is when visual stimuli are presented in quick succession. If the interval between the two stimuli is short enough, you do not perceive the second stimulus. This lapse in attention is known as attentional blink. In this assignment, you will experience the attentional blink for yourself and will also read about practical implications of the phenomenon.

Access the CogLab demonstrationAttentional Blink. Follow the instructions to complete the demonstration.

Read the following article:

Using the experience from the CogLab demonstration and information from the article, write a paper that addresses the following:

  • Explain how the attentional blink relates to attention. Analyze how the variation in time influences the probability of seeing the second target letter. Explain the circumstances under which the attentional blink can be eliminated.
  • In the CogLab demonstration, letters were used as targets. The target used can influence the duration of one’s attentional blink and whether the attentional blink even occurs. Complete the following tasks:
    • Propose at least two other targets that could be used to induce the attentional blink.
    • Predict the effect each of your suggested targets would have on the duration of one’s attentional blink as compared to the CogLab activity you completed.
    • Explain the reasoning behind your predictions.
  • Present and discuss at least three occupations in which workers’ performance could be adversely affected by attentional blink. Identify and explain the types of problems or mistakes that might occur in such occupations due to the attentional blink.
  • Several years ago, some vehicle models came with a heads-up display (HUD). Instead of looking down at a panel on the dashboard, speed, distance traveled, fuel level, and time appeared to be displayed over the hood of the car. Discuss this design in terms of divided attention and attentional blink. Do you think the design was a good idea?

Write a 4-page paper in Word format.

The bibliography must include no less than five scholarly sources that will be used to support the major points of the Final Research Project.

Project Preparation – Annotated Bibliography

Must be 1,000 – 1,250 words in length (excluding the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style

Must use at least five scholarly sources.

  • Introduction to Topic: Refer to topic of racial profiling. For your introduction, you should write a 150-word paragraph which clearly explains the topic, the importance of further research, ethical implications, and how the topic relates to one’s academic and professional pursuits. Make sure you effectively inform the reader of the rationale behind your topic.

Thesis statement: Write a direct and concise thesis statement, which will become the point or perspective you will argue or prove in the Final Research Project. A thesis statement should be a single declarative sentence that makes one point in 25 words or less. The thesis statement must appear within the introduction paragraph.

Annotated Bibliography: , write an annotated bibliography to indicate the quality of the sources you have read. The bibliography must include no less than five scholarly sources that will be used to support the major points of the Final Research Project. Critical thinking skills need to be demonstrated by accurately interpreting evidence used to support various positions of the topic. Please make sure to provide full reference information in accordance with APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Write a brief paragraph (around 150 words) summarizing the source and explaining how it is pertinent and relevant to the topic of the project and how each source will support your thesis statement. See the Sample Annotated Bibliography in the Ashford Writing Center for more detailed information. Keep in mind the academic research standards for all Ashford

1. Your program reads a file named “design.txt”. Each line of the file describes a specific object to be drawn on the window created by graphics.py. The format of each line is as follows: Object_type, x-location, y-location, color, size Valid Object_type includes “rectangle”, “circle”, “star”, “triangle”. Size filed varies depending on the given Object_type. This is an example of design.txt file: rectangle, 100, 200, red, 50, 100 circle, 300, 400, blue, 10 triangle, 250, 450, gray, 40 star, 300, 500, yellow, 20 Note that, in rectangle, size has two values 50 (height) and 100 (length). In circle, size has one value 10 (radius). In triangle, size has one value 40 (side of a equilateral triangle). In star, size has one value 20 (side of a equilateral triangle to draw a star). 2. In a loop, your program reads a line in design.txt per iteration until reaching the end of file. After reading a line, your program will parse the required data to draw an object and call the function to draw the object as described. You can reuse the functions, draw_rectangle() and draw_star(), you created in HW4 but you need to create two more functions draw_circle() and draw_triangle(). You can design the functions as you want as long as it works fine. 3. Your program must work for any valid input data in design.txt which can be as many as 100 objects. A separate test file which has unknown number of different objects will be used to evaluate your program.
