How can the sales department use the CVP tool when analyzing customer profitability?

financial 7/8

Assignment 2: Analyzing Profitability and Other Variables

Cost-volume-profit analysis is an extension of break-even analysis. CVP analysis enables managers to understand cost behavior and the effect on profits in response to a wide variety of influences, such as changes in volume, variable and fixed costs, and price. This helps management make appropriate business decisions. For example, CVP analysis helps management identify a break-even point if volume or costs change or determine the volume necessary for a targeted profit level. CVP analysis can also help management develop a pricing strategy by projecting the effects the different price structures will have on costs and profits.

In this assignment, you will examine how you can use CVP analysis to plan and make various business decisions. In addition, you will analyze financial data of Compnet’s potential product acquisition (Prime Component) and determine the effects on profit due to variations in its costs and sales price.

Tasks:

Part I: Using CVP Analysis for Business Decisions

Respond to the following:

  • How will you use CVP analysis to make business decisions at your workplace? Support your answer with examples.
  • Using an example from your workplace, distinguish between variable and fixed cost structures. Why might different managers assess the same cost differently?
  • How would you use CVP analysis to develop a budget? Elaborate using examples.
  • How can the sales department use the CVP tool when analyzing customer profitability?

Write your initial response in a minimum of 500 words. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

By Saturday, January 30, 2016, post your response to the appropriate Discussion Area. Through Monday, February 1, 2016, review and comment on at least two peers’ responses.

Part II: Performing CVP Analysis

Identify the treatment approach for your case based upon the theory you have chosen to explain the disorder.

Assignment 2: Case Study Development and Theoretical Explanation **FOR SOLUTIONS PRO.**

Assignment 2: Case Study Development and Theoretical Explanation

In today’s world, stress is inescapable. Stress can be a major factor in physical and psychological illnesses. Stress is closely related to fear, panic, and anxiety. A number of relatively common psychological disturbances share symptoms that include anxiety as a central component. The somatic symptom disorders involve a preoccupation with the body or a medical illness. The dissociative disorders involve an alteration in consciousness or memory such as amnesia or, in an extreme case, the development of multiple personalities as in dissociative identity disorder.

Below is a Sample Case – Woody

Click to review the sample case (do not use Woody in your M2 A2 assignment analysis) (INCLUDED BELOW)

Review the sample case. Download and study the guidelines for developing cases (INCLUDED BELOW) Develop one original fictional case study that portrays a specific diagnosis within the categories of: anxiety, somatic symptom disorders, or dissociative disorders.  (*disorder that I have chosen is Hypochondriasis** and in my scenario it will be the wife, age 32, with 2 small children and a husband)

The case description must include all of the DSM criteria necessary to diagnose that disorder, but may also include additional symptoms not found within that diagnostic category. Include some demographic background of the fictional case subject. This portion of the assignment should be 1 to 1 ½ pages.

Mental health professionals are often trained in one or more theoretical orientations. Each theoretical orientation provides a specific insight into why a person acts the way he or she does. The theoretical orientation also guides the professional’s choice of treatment options to address the symptoms presented by the individual to be treated. Several theoretical explanations of abnormal behavior have been described in your readings for this module. Some of these are biological, psycho dynamic, behavioral, existential, cognitive, and sociol cultural.

Identify the treatment approach for your case based upon the theory you have chosen to explain the disorder. Then in 2–3 pages, write your own theoretical analysis of case characteristics in relation to the disorder the case represents.

Write the case and theoretical analysis in a 3–4-page paper in Word format. Be sure to include an APA style title page and to cite the online course and the text applying APA standards. Use the following file naming convention: Last name  First Initial_M2_A2.doc. Use appropriate extensions for any other formats you use.

Woody’s Case

Woody, a 45 year old married accountant, complains of dizziness, sweaty palms, stomachaches, and shortness of breath. He has been experiencing these symptoms for more than two years with few periods of extended relief. He also experiences dryness in mouth, periods of extreme muscle tension, and a constant nervousness that has often interfered with his ability to focus on his work. Although these symptoms lead to frustration, he denies feeling depressed and continues to enjoy hobbies and family activities.

Because of these symptoms, Woody has seen his primary care physician, a chiropractor, and several other specialists, but has received conflicting diagnoses and treatment, none of which have helped.

Woody constantly worries about the health of his wife, parents, and children. He thinks about accidents that could happen and tries to plan to avoid them. Woody’s wife was diagnosed with Breast cancer several years ago. She received treatment and has been cancer free for over one year. Woody also worries about his performance at work, feeling he could be fired at any time, though his work reviews do not indicate any problems.

Do the parties have a contract?

Business Law for tutor Princess Mary

Please read the following scenarios and answer whatever questions are imposed within the scenario.  Use APA in text citations and References at the end.

Due by 5pm Saturday, Feb. 6, 2015

Scenario 1

Home Depot offers to sell Bill Casey, the purchasing manager for Canton Construction, 1000 ABS hard hats with reflectors for $10 each with a one-year period for action on breach of warranty.  Casey copies Home Depot’s offer to his own form that contains a two-year period for action on breach of warranty preprinted on the back of the form, and sends the acceptance to Home Depot.  Do the parties have a contract?  Why or why not?  If so, what are its terms?  Please be sure to cite to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), which provides guidance in answering these questions.

Scenario 2

Harold purchased a Jazzy Sport 2 Power Chair from Go Mobility, an affiliate of the manufacturer, Jazzy Electric Wheelchairs.  The sales brochure from Jazzy stated that all Jazzy products would “serve the buyer well for many years to come.”  About 18 months later, Harold had problems with the Jazzy Sport and filed a breach of express warranty lawsuit against Go Mobility and Jazzy Electric Wheelchairs. What arguments would each party make?  Decide which party should win and provide support for your answer using the text materials, and/or the applicable law.
