ESTATE PLANNING RECOMMENDATION WRITING ASSIGNMENT

Students should be able to assess personal needs in order to determine which types of life and health insurance plans fit best.

Write a three to five page paper on Estate Planning

Evaluate the tools commonly used in estate planning, including trusts, life insurance, and annuities. Compare the tools as to how they would apply to the Jones Family described below.

John Jones became 58 years old in March of this year and has $75,000 in his regular IRA (on April 1 of this year, after contributions for last year) and $35,000 in taxable savings accounts. He is the sole owner and president of Jones Technical, Inc. (an S corporation), which generates $150,000 in pretax cash flow per year after the owner’s salary of $50,000. He would like to leave the business to his two sons (ages 23 and 27), but neither has expressed a current desire to be part of the business, and John wonders if they would be willing to put in necessary time into the business to continue its success. He would like some type of supervision of his sons if he left the business to them when he died.

The building that houses the business operations is owned by John and his wife (who is age 56) as joint tenants and is free of any liens. The building was recently appraised at $400,000 and the Jones believe the value of the building will continue to appreciate as the population of the area increases. The remainder of the Jones’ estate consists of $250,000 in personal property (home, furniture, cars – all with no debt). John has a term life insurance policy with a $250,000 death benefit. Mrs. Jones has no life insurance coverage. Mrs. Jones has no interest in continuing the business if John should die prematurely. The Jones live in a common-law state that does not have a state death tax.

Evaluate the relationships between total gross sales and each of the other three variables. Use tables, charts, graphs, or visual dashboards to support your conclusions.

Managerial Report

Option 1 – Motion Picture Industry

The motion picture industry is a competitive business. More than 50 studios produce a total of 300 to 400 new motion pictures each year, and the financial success of each motion picture varies considerably. Gross sales for the opening weekend, the total gross sales, the number of theaters the movie was shown in, and the number of weeks the motion picture was open are common variables used to measure the success of a motion picture. Data collected for a sample of 100 motion pictures produced in 20XX are contained in the file named Movies, linked at the bottom of the page. Use all 100 data points.

Managerial Report

Prepare a report (see below) using the numerical methods of descriptive statistics presented in this module to learn how each of the variables contributes to the success of a motion picture. Be sure to include the following three (3) items in your report.

  1. Descriptive statistics (mean, median, range, and standard deviation) for each of the four variables along with an explanation of what the descriptive statistics tell us about the motion picture industry.
  2. Use the z-score to determine which movies, if any, should be considered high-performance outliers in each of the four variables. If there are any outliers in any category, please list them and state for which category they are an outlier. Describe which method you used to make your determination.
  3. Descriptive statistics (correlation coefficient) showing the relationship between total gross sales and each of the other three variables. Evaluate the relationships between total gross sales and each of the other three variables. Use tables, charts, graphs, or visual dashboards to support your conclusions.

Write a report that adheres to the Written Assignment Requirements under the heading “Expectations for CSU-Global Written Assignments” found in the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.  As with all written assignments at CSU-Global, you should have in-text citations and a reference page. Your report must contain the following:

  • A title page in APA style.
  • An introduction that summarizes the problem.

What is the best point estimate for the population mean?

Need help with this model 2 I posted this on the 11/22

This week you will begin working on Phase 2 of your course project. Using the same data set and variables for your selected topic, add the following information to your analysis:

  1. Discuss the importance of constructing confidence intervals for the population mean.
  • What are confidence intervals?
  • What is a point estimate?
  • What is the best point estimate for the population mean? Explain.
  • Why do we need confidence intervals?
  1. Based on your selected topic, evaluate the following:
  • Find the best point estimate of the population mean.
  • Construct a 95% confidence interval for the population mean. Assume that your data is normally distributed and ÃÆ’ is unknown.
    • Please show your work for the construction of this confidence interval and be sure to use the Equation Editor to format your equations.
