I need this ASAP

Explain the importance of information technology (IT) in patient transitions in different types of healthcare settings.

Please include all links that you have used so that I may be able to find the information myself and do a proper reference page. I need this by 8pm Sunday night 2-7-16. This essay needs to be 3 to 4 pages long (not including the reference page). Thank you!!

Instructions:

  • As you have discussed so far in this course, healthcare has lagged behind other industries in terms of digitization of records, in particular patient health records. Write a paper that includes the following:
  • Explain the importance of information technology (IT) in patient transitions in different types of healthcare settings.
  • Provide some insight into the status of the federal government initiatives that are underway (regional health information networks, electronic health records that are available from anywhere, etc.) with the goal of creating a health information exchange in the United States.
  • Finally, knowing the status of the NHIN and initiatives, use critical thinking to analyze how your primary healthcare provider compares.
  • Review the Stage 1 and Stage 2 meaningful use core and objectives for eligible professionals at the following site: Source: HealthIT: Achieve Meaningful Use. Retrieved from https://www.healthit.gov/providersprofessionals/ehr-implementation-steps/step-5-achieve-meaningful-use
  • Based on what you learned about how to achieve meaningful use, describe a specific example of how your provider’s office is state-of-the-art.
  • Describe an example where the office is also lagging behind. Using that example, identify the primary obstacles the office faces, describe several potential solutions to this problem, and identify the one that would best fit your provider’s office.

Requirements: The Assignment should be three to four pages in length, prepared in a Microsoft Word document, and APA-formatted.

How might such a social ritual, such as a rite of passage, influence the identity formation process of adolescents?

Assignment 1: LASA 2 Identity Formation

We have learned that adolescence is a time of transition between childhood and adulthood. A critical milestone of this stage is the ability to successfully achieve a sense of identity. Around the world, there are different rites of passage to mark the transition to adulthood. In the United States, this might include obtaining a driver’s license, landing one’s first job, senior prom, or high school graduation. In this assignment, we will explore the role that family and society play in the development of the individual’s sense of self.

By Monday, February 8, 2016, create two documents for parents of minority teens 1) A 9–12-slide PowerPoint presentation (complete with speaker’s notes) and 2) an accompanying 1–2-page handout/flier in Word document or PDF format. Be sure that both illustrate the following:

  1. Describe common rites of passage from two cultures around the world and compare them to a common American rite of passage.  Possible resources might include National Geographic and the Argosy University Online Library.
  2. Compare and contrast these rites to common US rites of passage. Do they coincide with the physical, cognitive, or socioemotional changes taking place at this age? Describe which specific changes (physical, cognitive, or socioemotional) they coincide with. Does this explain their importance in a particular culture?
  3. How might such a social ritual, such as a rite of passage, influence the identity formation process of adolescents?
  4. In light of Erikson and Marcia’s theories, discuss how the process of identity development is affected when the adolescent belongs to a minority group (racial, ethnic, sexual, or religious). Be sure to explain these theories and how they apply to identity development.
  5. Summarize research from at least two peer-reviewed* studies on the effect of minority status on identity development, ensuring you describe the main findings of the study as well as the research methods used to study the topic.
  6. Apply the information you gathered from the online notes, textbook, and research articles to provide at least three practical recommendations for what the family, school, and community can do to ease the process for adolescents.

*Peer-reviewed means an article from a reputable journal, which can be found in the Argosy University Online Library. Peer reviewed indicates that other professionals in the field have reviewed and deemed it worthy of publication, in contrast to much if what we find online: someone posting something he or she wants to, without someone else verifying that the research methods were rigorous enough and the study is valid. Use your textbook and course lectures as your primary resources, as well as articles from the Argosy University Online Library. If you must supplement from a website, do NOT use .coms. Instead, look for .org, .gov, and sometimes .edu for more reputable sources. Never use Wikipedia or about.com.

This assignment is worth 300 points and will be evaluated according to the rubric. Study the rubric carefully before you start work and refer to it periodically to complete this assignment.

By Monday, February 8, 2016, deliver the slideshow and the handout/flier to the M5: Assignment 1 Dropbox.

Discuss 2 key elements of certified EHRs, and discuss stage 1 meaningful use core objectives criteria as they relate to clinical applications.

Information Systems in Healthcare

4-5 pages

.

As the manager of the CTU Health Care information systems department, you are aware of the meaningful use core measure standards that all eligible professionals (EPs) and health care organizations (HCOs) must meet to receive monetary incentives set forth by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. To meet the HITECH meaningful use core measures, EPs and HCOs must implement certified electronic health records (EHRs) to gain incentives. To meet the criteria for meaningful use all EPs and HCOs must implement certified EHR.

Complete the following:

  • Discuss 2 key elements of certified EHRs, and discuss stage 1 meaningful use core objectives criteria as they relate to clinical applications.

What are the ethical considerations related to this study?

Respond to at least two of your colleagues’ posts (Note: 2 of my colleague’s responses are copied below, I need one response for each person) in at least one of the following ways:

  • Explaining your perspective on the key information your colleague shared about a particular problem.
  • Identifying and explaining real-life examples related to one or more of the issues and the problems associated with each.
  • Suggesting ways to narrow a colleague’s topic to a researchable problem the colleague described.
  • Suggesting alternative problem statements based on the problem the colleague described.
  • Sharing links to and discussing additional resources related to the problem.

Pamela’s response:

The three areas of interest that I researched are:

  1. Writing Individualized Education Plans (IEP) to match student needs and/or Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Which is more important?
  2. Is education heading in the right direction with Every Student Succeeds Act?
  3. Teacher evaluations-fair and equal?

What has already been studied in the literature?

  1. How to write an IEP to what to write in an IEP have been studied about in most literature I located.  There are also studies written on how to assist special education students in taking new assessments connected to CCSS.
  2. A lot has been written about the different directions education has gone and new directions that it is going.  Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was signed by Congress and the President in December 2015 and basically eliminated No Child Left Behind. Not much literature can be found about ESSA.
  3. Many articles have been written about teacher evaluations.  Studies looked at physical appearance, attractiveness, age, years of service, etc. I found one article that mentioned how administration should not be handling the evaluations.

How much time will it take me to complete a study related to this problem?

  1. To find out if writing an IEP to accommodate the students needs and/or CCSS would take an entire school year.  This is only true if the assessment that is given at the end of the school year actually matches the CCSS that was taught during the school year.
  2. Using a survey method, this study could probably be completed within six months.
  3. Using interview and survey methods, this study could be completed within six months to one year.

What stakeholder buy-in will I need to obtain to perform this study?

  1. To perform this study, the parents, student, teacher, and administration will need to give approval and all will need to be involved throughout the entire process.
  2. To perform this study, parents, teachers and administration at school and district levels would need to participate.
  3. To perform this study, teachers would be needed to participate.

What are the benefits of doing this study?

  1. To help special education case managers in writing accurate IEP’s for students.  This also will allow for addendums to be at a minimum.  It would also benefit the student because the IEP will not need to be re-written if they happen to move to a new school during the school year.
  2. To show stakeholders if the newly approved act will make a difference within their school district.
  3. To keep teachers in the profession.  We are already seeing shortages pop up all over the nation.

What are the ethical considerations related to this study?

  1. Ethical considerations include getting permission from all stakeholders to conduct the study, keeping my own biases and opinions out of the study, keeping the names of participants out of final reporting, and report everything accurately.
  2. Ethical considerations include getting permission from all stakeholders to conduct the study, keeping my own biases and opinions out of the study, keeping the names of participants out of final reporting, and report everything accurately.
  3. Ethical considerations include getting permission from all stakeholders to conduct the study, keeping my own biases and opinions out of the study, keeping the names of participants out of final reporting, and report everything accurately.

Will I be able to recruit participants for this study?

  1. Yes, I would be able to recruit participants for this study.  It would take a while to find all of the stakeholders at the same time, but I think I could find enough to participate.
  2. Yes, I would be able to recruit participants for this study.
  3. Yes, I would be able to recruit participants for this study.

Kasey’s Response:

Issue One: Implementing the Common Core Standards into IEP goals

Last week in my reading, I realized that the standards should be tied to all IEP goals for students but that may not be possible.  Some goals address social, emotional, behavioral, and life skills.

  • What has already been studied in the literature?
  • Research towards the standards and special education has been done but no one seems to know quite how to implement the math and language arts standards into all types of the IEP goals
  • How much time will it take me to complete a study related to this problem?
  • I believe I will need an entire academic year and a full class of students will different educational needs and IEPs.  There are so many different ways to write a goal for an IEP that I couldn’t just write a few and apply that to everyone’s IEP
  • What stakeholder buy-in will I need to obtain to perform this study?
  • I will need the help and support of general education teachers and my administration staff so we can all collaborate on what will work best
  • What are the benefits of doing this study?
  • Students on an IEP will be able to learn the same skills based on the common core standards that all children are working on
  • What are the ethical considerations related to this study?
  • We must respect each student’s privacy when working on their goals and we cannot share the information outside of the few people who are working with that student directly.
  • Will I be able to recruit participants for this study?
  • Other special education teachers would love to participate in this study and learn how to implement the standards in all types of IEP goals.

Issue Two: High-Stakes Testing

Students are required to take high-stakes assessments at the end of every year in school.  Often times the results of these tests determine the quality of education the child received and how to evaluate the teacher’s skills for that subject.

  • What has already been studied in the literature?
  • Research is constant in this topic.  Many argue whether to tie teacher evaluations to the results of student testing.  It tends to put more pressure on the teachers while the students don’t take it seriously.  Research on this topic shouldn’t ever stop.
  • How much time will it take me to complete a study related to this problem?
  • I believe I will need a few years to really determine if test results relate to teacher performance.  One cannot base this information on just one year of testing and teaching.  Many other aspects need to be considered in this study.
  • What stakeholder buy-in will I need to obtain to perform this study?
  • The number one stakeholder in this debate is the classroom teacher themselves.  They are working their best to get students ready for the assessments
  • What are the benefits of doing this study?
  • One benefit will be to determine if teachers have to teach to the test or if they can take time to really teach life skills on top of the core subject areas.  Education has become so difficult trying to determine what lessons to take out in order to fit more time in preparing for the tests
  • What are the ethical considerations related to this study?
  • It would be ethical to keep test scores to oneself and not share those scores with anyone other than the student, parent, and teacher to make further determinations on how to proceed with the information
  • Will I be able to recruit participants for this study?
  • All teachers would help in determining how much of their lessons influence test scores.  There are times were we want to teach what we feel the kids need even though it might not ever be on the test.

Issue Three: Does technology in the classroom actually help?

I can argue both the pros and cons of this issue.  It’s hard to pick a side on this.

  • What has already been studied in the literature?
  • Research shows pros and cons to both sides.  I don’t believe anyone can truly make up their mind on this issue.
  • How much time will it take me to complete a study related to this problem?
  • I believe I will need a couple of years in school to find what works and what doesn’t.  I don’t know what technology will really help learning and what will just cause distractions.  Right now, in my directed studies class, students love using the computers and iPads to play more than to work.
  • What stakeholder buy-in will I need to obtain to perform this study?
  • Teachers, administration and even policy makers would like to know more about this study because it determines how much money will go into the school and into different types of technology.
  • What are the benefits of doing this study?
  • Students need to know all the can about how to use technology.  We live in a world full of technology.  It needs to be taught in the classroom.  The question is: how?
  • What are the ethical considerations related to this study?
  • Finding the right technology for each student can be difficult.  We want to be careful as to what we do on the internet and what we ask students to post online.
  • Will I be able to recruit participants for this study?

  • All teachers, administration staff and policy makers could participate to determine how well students do with technology and determine if more or less money will be needed.

What are the general trends in leadership/management that are impacting your organization?

Assignment 2: LASA 2 Assignment—Workforce 2020 Executive Report

Both leadership and organizational strategy in the next decade will see major trends affecting the way organizations conduct business. These include the deployment of more technology to extend reach and access, increased globalization, increased diversity, more focus on extended supply chains, and a more nomadic workforce. In this assignment, you will consider these trends and analyze how they may impact your selected organization and what actions are necessary to get ready to address these trends.

You have been appointed by your organization (either a hypothetical one or one you are familiar with) to prepare its Workforce 2020 executive report.

The report should be as detailed as possible for the CEO of your organization. That means it should include the key points of your research, analysis, and findings. The report should also contain examples of specific application to your company in a clear, concise, and informative document.

In Module 4, you began your research on Workforce 2020. In this module, you will expand on the work you did in Module 4. Take Module 4’s paper, and incorporate the items below into your work. Be sure to use the module readings, Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, including federal guidelines. Select at least 3–4 scholarly resources for use in this assignment.

Complete the following:

  1. Analyze your organization in its present form. Explain your organization’s structure, workforce diversity, market/customer diversity, and communications technology.
  2. Forecast future trends. Identify the economic, social, demographic, and workforce parameters that are expected to be in the U.S. in the year 2020. Explain how those trends will or will not be reflected in your organization. Consider addressing the following:
    1. What are the general workforce trends?
    2. How will these trends impact your industry?
    3. What are the general trends in leadership/management that are impacting your organization?
  3. Synthesize data and recommend changes needed for the future. Identify and recommend leader, organizational, and workforce trends that must be considered for change in the larger macro environment (for example, advances in technology or globalization) in your organization. Identify related outcomes for each specific topic: Consider addressing the following:
    1. What leadership actions should the organization take?
    2. What competencies will be needed?
    3. What does the organization need to do to be prepared? To conduct a holistic assessment of your selected organization and the challenges and opportunities it faces in addressing the noted trends, consider some of the concepts listed below as you develop your recommendations for the organization. It is not necessary to include all the concepts, but you should include 2–3 of them to do a thorough analysis. For example, leadership models and diversity management are likely to be pivotal areas for the organization. You could talk about the environment trends that were noted in the beginning of this assignment and then discuss how leadership practices and approaches in your selected organization may have to change to meet or address those trends.
  1. Analyze how the following concepts apply to your organization:
    • Diversity management
    • Leadership models
    • Ethics
    • Decision-making models
    • Problem solving
    • Conflict management processes

Ensure that your paper includes the following:

  • An integrated report with an introduction and summary
  • A set of recommendations that will enable the organization to meet the expected challenges of 2020
  • Trends in your own organization
  • 3–4 credible, cited sources supporting your projections

Support your assertions using the selected scholarly resources.

Your final product will be in a Word document and be approximately 12–15 pages in length and utilize 5–7 scholarly sources in your research. Your paper should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Identify an issue for which you would be willing to face imprisonment or death, rather than renounce.

Directions:

Throughout history people of high moral character have faced punishment, imprisonment, and even death rather than forsake their guiding principles. In Socrates’ case, he was unwilling to renounce his commitment to searching for wisdom, examining himself and others, and exhorting others to live virtuously and attend to their souls. Other people have been unwilling to:

  • Renounce their religious beliefs
  • Surrender their commitment to personal and political freedom
  • Behave in a way that they considered to be immoral
  • Betray loyalties to family, friends, and/or country

Think about your deepest convictions and identify an issue for which you would be willing to face imprisonment or death. Imagine yourself in a court setting, similar to Socrates, in which you have one final chance to persuade your accusers that you do not deserve to die, even though you are unwilling to renounce your beliefs. Then, compose a Socratic dialogue between you and your accusers in which you use penetrating questioning and compelling logic to make your case.[1]

Steps:

  1. Identify an issue for which you would be willing to face imprisonment or death, rather than renounce.
  2. Write a dialogue between yourself and your accusers (think of how Socrates speaks to Meletus) in which you defend yourself and your belief.
  3. Be sure to keep in mind the criteria we discussed in the Paul and Elder book on Critical Thinking. You should aim to give a sophisticated and logical argument.
