Purpose: This assignment is meant to show the students’ ability to apply the statistical and graphical practices that have been covered in this course.
Format: This paper must be scholarly, properly cited, and in APA format. Each project must include a title page, an abstract (100-250 words), an introduction section (300-600 words), the mathematical work for at least two forms of statistical analysis, at least one form of graphical analysis, a results and conclusions section (300-600 words), a reference section, and an appendix containing the dataset used.
Sources MUST be properly cited using APA format. If using a print article that cannot be found online, please scan it in and attach it as an appendix.
Assignment: Come up with a question surrounding a topic of personal interest, find a dataset that can help answer the question, perform at least two types of statistical analysis and at least one type of graphical analysis that help to answer the question, and handwrite a formal report on this process.
Final Project Instructions:
Design a research question that meets the following conditions:
• Must be able to answer question using statistical analysis
• Must provide insight into an issue of importance
• Must be relevant to your interests and/or have personal significance
Select a dataset that meets the following conditions:
• The dataset must be raw, meaning little to no analysis of the data has been conducted.
• The dataset should have between 50 to 200 data points.
• It is recommended that you find a dataset online rather than gathering the data yourself.
Select at least two methods of statistical analysis appropriate to your selected dataset.
• Your selected method of statistical analysis should have been covered in the course.
• The method of statistical analysis must help you answer your research question.
Perform at least two statistical analyses of your selected dataset. Perform at least one graphical analysis of your selected dataset.
• Label all axes and provide values for each axis.
• Make sure graphs help answer the research question.
Combine this work into a single document, in proper APA format, that summarizes the research question asked, the dataset used, the analyses performed, and the conclusions drawn from this process.
