Support each of these with evidence from your readings. Use specific quotes from the readings and engage with them thoughtfully as you assess the strengths and weaknesses of this method.

How does your company’s prices compare to competitors who sell the same or similar products?

Company is Samsung Galaxy Electronics

1. How does your company’s prices compare to competitors who sell the same or similar products? Overall, does your company’s prices seem high or low?
2. Do you think your company is basing their pricing mostly on cost (such as a cost-plus approach) or are other factors at play? Consider the concepts of prestige pricing in D’Antonio (2012) or value-based pricing mentioned in the Pearson tutorial.
3. Discuss at least three other pricing strategies from D’Antonio (2012), Paley (2006), or the Pearson tutorial and explain whether or not you think your company is using these strategies. Explain your reasoning, and remember to cite the sources where you read about the pricing strategies from in your answer.

A brand new company has developed a new dishwater detergent which is comparable to other major brands in quality, but the company has developed a new manufacturing technology that over a period of time should be able to produce detergent at a cheaper cost than any competitor.

For each recommendation, make sure to explain your reasoning and to cite one of the required background readings in support of your recommendation:

1. A company has developed a new 3D television with outstanding displays. The company has a patent on a new technology that doesn’t require glasses to see the 3D effect and has a display far better than those of any competitor’s 3D televisions. The company still has to compete with other television manufacturers, but because of the patent and superior technology it is likely to have a large advantage in the 3D television market for at least a year or two.
2. A brand new company has developed a new dishwater detergent which is comparable to other major brands in quality, but the company has developed a new manufacturing technology that over a period of time should be able to produce detergent at a cheaper cost than any competitor. The cost of the new manufacturing equipment was high, but once the equipment is paid off it should be very cheap to produce each bottle of detergent.
3. You have just opened up a new electronics shop and Apple will be releasing their latest iPhone in a few days. You are confident that once customers come into your shop they will be impressed with your large selection and knowledgeable and friendly sales staff and will become loyal customers. However, given the nearby location of Best Buy and other popular electronics shops it will be a challenge to get customers into your shop. So the first big pricing decision you have to make is what to charge for iPhones.
4. You have started a new fashion company, and your partner in this business is one of the top designers in Italy. You and your business partner’s plan is to become known as one of the premier manufacturers and designers of blue jeans in the world, and hope to have a very high end brand well known among the wealthy and fashion conscience.

A company has developed some advanced new animation software for use in making professional quality animated television shows and movies.

The format of this assignment is similar to that of the previous case assignment, as you will again be giving recommendations based on a series of situations that a company might face. Of course, make sure to thoroughly review the background materials and make sure you have a strong familiarity with the five main promotional strategies and advantages, disadvantages, and challenges of each. You should also familiarize yourself with the advantages and disadvantages of different types of media.

For each of the following situations below, give a recommendation for A) which one or two of the five main promotional strategies should the company emphasize, and B) one or two types of media should the company emphasize in their promotions, and C) at least one reference from the background materials in support of your recommendations. Your paper should be four to five pages in length:

1. A company has developed some advanced new animation software for use in making professional quality animated television shows and movies. This company’s customers will be small in number overall – the major movie and television studios, a few independent studios, and some of the larger animation schools.
2. A new toy has come out shortly before Christmas which is based on a popular TV show for kids. The producer of the toy is hoping for big sales during the holiday season, as Christmas is when they make most of their profits for the year. But due to licensing issues they had faced delays in releasing the product and only have a short time before Christmas to get the word out about their new toy.
3. A major food manufacturer is planning to come out with a brand new fiber drink designed to promote colon and intestinal health. The target market is senior citizens.
4. You are running a small airline that connects a few regional cities. Your sales are generally high which indicates that there is a strong market for flights that connect these cities. However, your research department has found that you have a low rate of repeat customers compared to similar airlines.

Explain whether these existing policies are adequate or need to be revised based on their strengths and limitations, and why.

Course Project: Community Advocacy Project—Health Policies

To prepare for this section of the Course Project:

• Review the Windome et al. article. Reflect on the authors’ seven lessons and how the lessons apply to advocacy work and policy formation.
• Consider existing policies that impact the public health issue (TOBACCO USE) you selected in Week 1.. For instance, if you have identified tobacco use as an issue within your community, think about community policies that would curtail tobacco use such as tobacco-free zones and high taxes on tobacco products.
• View the media titled “Improving Public Health Policy.” Think about new policies that might be enacted to address your selected public health issue. These policies must be able to be implemented. Do not suggest, for instance, that smoking should be made entirely illegal.
• Identify potential stakeholders in the development and passage of ideas for health policy change within your community.

The Project (1–2 pages)
To complete this section of your Course Project, address the following:
• Describe existing policies that impact your selected public health issue (TOBACCO USE). Explain whether these existing policies are adequate or need to be revised based on their strengths and limitations, and why.
• Describe new policies that you consider important for addressing your selected public health issue, and explain why.
• Describe potential stakeholders in the development and passage of ideas for public health policy change within your community, and explain why their role is important.
Support your Project with specific references to all resources used in its preparation. You are asked to provide a reference list for all resources, including those in the Learning Resources for this course.

Identify the relevant target audience/customers for your campaign.

Your assignment is to critically analyse a website, provide recommendations to improve its search results, and plan an online ad campaign to promote the site. You are encouraged to use your creativity and select tools to make this possible.

Select just the following website:

• Vodacom Tanzania – https://www.vodacom.co.tz/ (must be in English with a minimum of 5 pages)

Project report structure:

I. Scholarship – 25 marks:

You must conduct market research and data analysis to provide a thorough justification for your recommendations.

This can include primary data (current website content, interviews or surveys of potential users), a tabular extract from Keyword Research, competitor activity analysis in this area, screen shots of current competitors’ ranking for your primary keyword terms using different tools such as Google Keyword planner tool, Google Trends, Google Insights for Search, etc.

II. Analysis – 25 marks:

You must critically evaluate the principles and processes involved in search engine optimization and website content strategy. This consists of 3 parts:

1. Evaluation of current rank. Use SEMRush, Open Site Explorer and a number of other tools to record the site’s overall Google Rank, backlinks, and other relevant data. Please be sure to note the exact date of your evaluation, since the website may change. Why do you think the site is not ranking higher? Please support your opinion with research.

2. Keyword evaluation. Select a minimum 5 keywords using Google AdWords Keyword Planner, and show their average monthly searches and competition level. Why did you select these keywords? While noting that individual results may vary, where does the website currently rank in terms of SERP (Search Engine Results Page and page position)? How do key competitors rank on the same keywords?

3. AIDA+ evaluation. In your opinion, how well does the current website create Awareness of the brand and product/service it offers; create Interest in readers to find out more; create Desire for the product/service; generate Action in terms of conversions (such as purchasing, registration, or business objective); and provide Satisfaction to current and past customers (customer service, post-purchase communications, etc.).

III. Campaign – 50 marks:

Based on your analysis, create a brief online campaign plan. This includes 5 parts:

1. Audience. Identify the relevant target audience/customers for your campaign.

2. SMART goals. Set one-year objectives for your website that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This should include both SEO and AIDA+ performance.

3. KPI’s. Set Key Performance Indicators to measure whether your SMART objectives are being met.

4. Content. Identify the major content changes you would make on the website to achieve your objectives, and justify your recommendations using research. This includes placement of keywords, renaming sections, adding or deleting other sections, and inclusion of multimedia content (games, videos, etc.).

5. Online ad campaign. With a hypothetical budget of US$10,000, plan an ad campaign with text ads on Google, Facebook, LinkedIn OR Twitter. (Pick 2 of the 4, and do not do banner-type display ads.) What keywords will you target, and what will your ad say? Show your planned budget in detail. Be original — do not copy any ads that are being run now or in the past.

Determine the expected completion time and the variance for each activity.

McGee Carpet and Trim installs carpets in commercial offices. Andrea McGee has been very concerned with the amount of time it took to complete several recent jobs. Some of her workers are very unreliable. A list of activities and their optimistic completion time, the most likely completion time, and the pessimistic completion time (all in days) for a new contract are provided in a given table. Following are the activities that are required to install the carpets in the offices:

Activity 1: Measure office room dimensions
Activity 2: Estimate cost
Activity 3: Material requisition
Activity 4: Workforce requisition
Activity 5: Special tool requisition
Activity 6: Installation
Activity 7: Inspection and customer acceptance

Activity 2 starts immediately after Activity 1. Activity 3, Activity 4, and Activity 5 start concurrently after Activity 2. Activity 6 does not start until after Activity 3, Activity 4, and Activity 5 are completed. The carpet installation project is complete after Activity 7 is completed. If OT = Optimistic Time, MT = Most Likely Time, and PT = Pessimistic Time, use a Program Evaluation Review Estimate (PERT) to compute the statistical time for each activity, as in the following table:

You must also do the following:

Determine the expected completion time and the variance for each activity
Determine the total project completion time and the critical path for the project
Determine Early Start (ES), Early Finish (EF), Late Start (LS), and slack for each activity
What is the probability that McGee Carpet and Trim will finish the project in 40 days or less?
Define project management and the necessary requirements.
Analyze implications of changes in project scheduling.
Evaluate application of project management techniques in terms of the firm’s business operational goals and requirements.

Please submit your assignment in an APA-formatted paper.

Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:

Title page: Remember the running head. The title should be in all capitals.
Abstract: A summary of your paper, not an introduction. Begin writing in third-person voice.
Body: The body of your paper begins on the page following the title page and abstract page and must be double-spaced (be careful not to triple- or quadruple-space between paragraphs). The type face should be 12-pt. Times Roman or 12-pt. Courier in regular black type. Do not use color, bold type, or italics except as required for APA-level headings and references. The deliverable length of the body of your paper for this assignment is 2–3 pages. In-body academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
Reference page: References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hang indention, italics, and upper- and lowercase usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Remember, the Reference Page is not a bibliography but a further listing of the abbreviated in-body citations used in the paper. Every referenced item must have a corresponding in-body citation.

Thoroughly Provide the following discussion based on the conclusion of your test:

Assignment 1: Bottling Company Case Study

Imagine you are a manager at a major bottling company. Customers have begun to complain that the bottles of the brand of soda produced in your company contain less than the advertised sixteen (16) ounces of product. Your boss wants to solve the problem at hand and has asked you to investigate. You have your employees pull thirty (30) bottles off the line at random from all the shifts at the bottling plant. You ask your employees to measure the amount of soda there is in each bottle. Note: Use the data set provided that has been uploaded to complete this assignment.
Write a three (3) page report in which you:
1. Thoroughly calculate the mean, median, and standard deviation for ounces in the bottles.
2. Thoroughly construct a 95% Confidence Interval for the ounces in the bottles.
3. Thoroughly conduct a hypothesis test to verify if the claim that a bottle contains less than sixteen (16) ounces is supported. Thoroughly and clearly state the logic of your test, the calculations, and the conclusion of your test.
4. Thoroughly Provide the following discussion based on the conclusion of your test:
a. If you conclude that there are less than sixteen (16) ounces in a bottle of soda, thoroughly speculate on three (3) possible causes. Next, thoroughly suggest the strategies to avoid the deficit in the future.
Or
b. If you conclude that the claim of less soda per bottle is not supported or justified, thoroughly provide a detailed explanation to your boss about the situation. Thoroughly include your speculation on the reason(s) behind the claim, and thoroughly recommend one (1) strategy geared toward mitigating this issue in the future.
Consistently use reasons and evidence that logically support ideas in order to obtain points towards the assignment.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
• Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides. No citations and references are required, but if you use them, they must follow APA format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
• Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
